Is My RV Covered in Mexico or Canada?

Are you planning an extended Recreational Vehicle stay in Canada or Mexico? Before you cross the border, you’ll want to check your insurance policy to see if you have coverage.

At Shelter your RV coverage will fall under a Private Passenger Auto insurance policy. This policy coverage would extend within any U.S. territory – any of the U.S. states and its five territories (American Samoa, Guam, the Northern Mariana Islands, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

With a Shelter policy, your RV IS covered under the Private Passenger Auto policy when traveling through or in Canada. The Private Passenger Auto policy DOES NOT extend to Mexico.

If you have any questions about traveling in your RV and how it can impact your coverage, reach out to your local Shelter agent.
