Ever been stuck on the side of the road with a flat tire? Or maybe your car breaks down and you have no idea why. It's a scary feeling made worse if you didn't purchase the optional roadside assistance offered by your insurance company.
At Shelter, we believe safety shouldn't be an option, so we've added roadside assistance provided by Road America to our auto policies at no additional charge. Call if you find yourself stranded and need:
Flat Tire Service
Battery Jump Start
These are just a few services this roadside assistance service provides.* It's available 24/7 and pays for services up to $100 per incident. You can purchase additional limits if needed, just ask your Shelter Agent. Another bonus, this service follows the car not the driver. So if you let your teenage daughter borrow your car and it breaks down, all she has to do is call. That's peace of mind you don't have to pay for.
We hope you don't experience the inconvenience and frustration of your car breaking down, but if it happens, the roadside assistance service can help ease at least some of the pain. Just call and provide your policy number, which is found on your insurance ID card. Be sure to stay with your car until help arrives, if it's safe to do so.
Keep in mind that the towing option included in this service is only if your vehicle has a mechanical or electrical problem. If you're involved in an accident, report a claim and the vehicle towing will be handled through the claims process if you've purchased the coverage required.
*Although the services offered is broad, restrictions do apply. See your policy for details.
