Reverse Mentoring is a term not familiar to many but one that has been ongoing at Shelter Insurance® since its inception in 2013. The unique concept is a nontraditional approach to the mentor relationship that involves pairing a junior employee with a Shelter company leader, benefitting both employees. New technologies and techniques are learned by the company leader, while career advice and leadership techniques are passed along to the junior member furthering their development.
The program has had considerable success, with participants gaining both professionally and personally from being a part of the program. But it's not all work and no play either. In addition to the accomplishing the main objective of the program, participants have fun and serve our community along the way.
The Reverse Mentoring Program is another avenue Shelter provides to encourage diversity and individual growth as well as attract and retain outstanding employees.
